Friday, July 04, 2008	9:30am	The parade starts Friday, July 4th at 9:30 AM in front of the Santa Monica Civic Center.	July 4th Parade. RATA TAT TAT AND DRUMA DRUM DRUM!! Grab your flags, put on your walking shoes and join League of Women Voters Santa Monica in celebrating Independence Day. From the Palette:( http://www.smgov.net/ccs/palette/6-28-07.htm ) Calling all kids, bicycles, creative teams, neighbors, marching bands and civic-minded groups! Big and small, young and old, all are welcome! March in Santa Monica's Fourth of July 2008 Parade on Main Street! Spectators Welcome! The parade starts Friday, July 4th at 9:30 AM in front of the Santa Monica Civic Center. The parade route goes South on Main Street from Pico, turns right on Marine, and heads north on Barnard Way to the southernmost beach parking lot to disperse. Last year we had people all of ages walk the 1.7 mile parade route with no difficulty. However, please make sure you are physically capable of walking the entire route if you are registering to walk in the parade. There is no stopping once the parade begins. HOW TO PARTICIPATE (be in the parade) Pre-Registration is required to participate in the parade! There is no registration on the day of the parade. All Applications must be submitted by June 20, 2008. Each individual must bring their own signed Waiver to check-in on the day of the parade. Saturday, July 19, 2008	10am-2pm	Montana Avenue Library 1504 Montana Ave Santa Monica	Rescheduled Annual Meeting. Making Democracy Work Part 2 We have had to make some adjustments to our Annual Meeting as a result of the materials not being sent to you 30 days in advance of the set date. Our League's by-laws are quite specific with this requirement, so we have added an additional meeting date to be in accordance. The previously sent Annual Meeting Kit attachments are somewhat the same and are available in the Attachment, but will not be re-sent in this mailing, copies will be avaliable at the meeting.Important differences are: The speaker for this session will be Mary Robinson Hendra - the location will be Montana Library - and the food is bring your own luncn. (See attachments especially attachment 4)
